Dubai is a city and emirate located in United Arab Emirates. It's is the largest & has the most population than any other city in the United Emirates. Dubai is also the capital of the Emirate of Dubai. It's also the most expensive city in the Middle East as of 2012. The global city has attracted attention because of their large construction & projects. It has the worlds tallest building named Burj Khalifa.
Dubai is a Islamic city but non-muslims can still practice there own religion. The UAE's government subsidises about 95% of mosques. They also employ all Imams. Anybody found preaching religious hate, racism,etc is usually jailed and deported. Other religious communites such as Christian, Buddhist, Hindu and others reside in in Dubai. These Non-Muslims have the right to own their own houses of worship to practice their own religion. They do this by requesting a land grant and permission to build a compund there.
Dubai's climate can get extremely hot. In the summer it is really hot and humid, with an average of 106 degrees fahrenheit and at night lows down to an average of 86 degrees fahrenheit. Their hottest month is August. During the winter it gets cool with an average of 75 degrees fahrenheit and at night lows down to 57 degrees fahrenheit. January is their coldest month. The highest recorded temperature is 119 degrees fahrenheit in 1996.
Women in Dubai usually wear an abaya, which is a long black robe. On their heads they wear hijabs, which is a head scarf that covers the head and neck. Some women may add a piece which covers their nose and mouth revealing only their eyes. Men wear a long white robe which is referred to as thawb. They wear this with a headscarf also known as a keffiyeh. These clothings are not mandatory. Many people wear other clothing without a problem but revealing too much skin is against the law. This law goes for everyone including visitors.
